"What's
in a name? We'd like to offer a brief explanation of
what's in ours?
Just
about anyone you ask would be able to tell you the word
Divine simply means “proceeding directly from God”. So,
our name begins with our confession that The One, True God
is our source of life, faith and practice. He is The God of
The Bible; Creator and Sustainer, Redeemer and Savior,
Provider, Protector and closest Friend. He is, of course, so
much more and He longs to have a vibrant, personal
relationship with each of us.
Hope?
The way our culture typically uses the word, its definition
can be a little bit obscured but it need not be. A very
close definition would be “desire with expectation of
obtainment or to expect with confidence”. The key concept
here is genuine confidence; a know-so kind of faith and Our
Gracious God has made that available to you and me as well.
So, here
we are. Divine Hope Church; a group of ordinary
people, with an extraordinary Divine Heavenly Father
who has given and continues to give us true Hope;
earnest expectation of forgiveness, an eternal home with Him
in Heaven and a daily, intimate relationship with Himself.
In that relationship, He meets our every need and we
gratefully worship and serve Him and the people He brings
our way. We live a Real Life, deal with Real
Issues and Our God provides Real Answers." |
